Their Love Story
Dustin and I met in high school in Indiana. We knew each other in school but were not in the same. friend group and therefore didn’t talk or hang out. After graduating in 2009, Dustin moved to Colorado Springs and I stayed in Indiana. Dustin reached out to me online in early 2010 and we caught up about what each of us had been doing since graduating. We stayed in touch on and off for the next year or so and then connected again in 2012. From that point on, we talked every day, either texting or talking on the phone. This went on for the next 3 years. Of course, talking that often, feelings develop. In December of 2014, Dustin came home for Christmas and we FINALLY got to see each other. I knew then that no matter what, I wanted to be with him. In March of 2015, I flew out to Colorado to see Dustin and that’s when I knew I was going to move to Colorado! I told myself I wanted to move to Colorado even if Dustin and I never ended up as more than friends, but I knew it would turn into something.
I moved to Colorado with then help of my family in June of 2015 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! As soon as I moved, Dustin and I spent all of our free time together. We moved in together in January of 2016 and got our first dog shortly after! We spent all of our free weekends when the weather was nice camping and enjoying any extra time we had together. I have never been happier than I am with Dustin. In December 2017, Dustin proposed in one of our favorite spots in Old Town, Fort Collins. I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I could not wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!
On March 12, 2018 we took our love into the Rocky Mountains and eloped with our family by our sides! Our wedding day is was exactly what we always imagined it would be. With the mountains behind us and a few of the people we love the most, it could not have been a more perfect day. We could not be happier to finally be husband and wife.
